Judy Robinson, a Registered Architect, is the principal and owner of Continuum Architecture & Design, an architecture and interior design firm established in Philadelphia, PA in 2005. The company started with a vision to promote living communities in Philadelphia.  Its focus is on the revitalization of city neighborhoods and on projects that enhance the bonds between people. The philosophy of Continuum is that a community is more than a geographic area: it is an interweaving of lives and the components that make up a life. A living community should bring together basic needs for shelter, places to work, places to acquire necessities, places to understand one another, places to be strong, places to revel in joy, places to think, to grow, to learn, to cry, to laugh, to live.  Within this philosophy, Continuum specializes in projects of adaptive reuse—giving life back to neglected buildings and vacant lots and building relationships with clients whose goal it is to inspire their end-user by insisting on thoughtful design.

Judy has worked in Philadelphia since 1989 on a variety of project types including retail, corporate, hospitality, and residential design. Her company is a certified WBE by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia. She is a member of The Sustainable Business Network, the US Green Building Council, and the International Code Council. She is a supporter of Community Design Collaborative, The Friends of Hart Park, In Liquid, Special Olympics, and Children’s International.  She was the Vice-President of the Board of the Girard Coalition and the Director of the Strategic Planning Committee. She was on the Design Review Committee for the Kensington South Neighborhood Advisory Committee (KSNAC) and on the KSNAC Committee to establish and outline its Community Zoning Process.

 In addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, she holds a Master’s degree in Art Education. She has taught Writing and Communications classes in the Engineering Department at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and she has sat on juries of student work at Drexel, Moore College of Art and Philadelphia University. She is also a photographer, and has shown and sold her work in galleries nationally.
